Season 3 Sprint 3 commenced on Monday, August 5th and runs until Monday, September 2nd. In the previous voting Phase 2, all three proposals were approved by $SAFE holders in Snapshot. Currently, new proposals are being submitted to Phase 0 to be reviewed by delegates and receive appropriate feedback. Check them out:

  • [Discussion] - Amendments to Governance Cycle Structure

    • The governance team has proposed amendments to the SafeDAO governance cycle structure aimed at improving the proposal review process without extending the overall cycle length. Key changes include eliminating “Phase 0” to streamline the process, introducing a proposal freeze period by the end of Week 2 to prevent last-minute changes, and shortening the voting period to 10 days with an added reflection period over the weekend before the next cycle begins. These adjustments are intended to provide clearer timelines and improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of governance
  • Revolutionizing DAO Management: Safe Integration with Telegram via NinDAO

    • This proposal outlines a plan to develop a Telegram-based interface for Safe, building on the previously developed dSAFE SDK. The focus is on creating the NinDAO Telegram bot, which will allow users to manage DAOs directly within Telegram, simplifying governance operations through an intuitive chat interface. This integration aims to enhance accessibility, improve user experience, and broaden the adoption of Safe technology. Despite strong community support, a previous proposal was not approved, so the team has refocused on this specific aspect. They are requesting $59,000 USDC for development, with no upfront payment, and plan to complete the project over 12 weeks.
  • [SEP #X] Contribution Efficiency System (CES) Extension - Areta

    • The proposal seeks to extend the Contribution Efficiency System (CES) to continue supporting SafeDAO’s OBRA initiatives during a period of organizational restructuring. The CES, which has been operational for four months, has played a crucial role in streamlining onboarding, milestone-setting, tracking, and reporting for 12 OBRA initiatives, while also providing feedback and facilitating decision-making. This extension aims to maintain continuity for both existing and new OBRA initiatives, ensuring ongoing support and improved governance operations. The proposal requests $35,000 USDC, reflecting reduced costs now that the initial setup is complete. The initiative will continue to focus on operational management, stakeholder engagement, and producing a final report summarizing key insights and learnings.
  • [Discussion/Draft] [OBRA] Governance Accessibility and Participation Enhancement at SafeDAO - StableLab

    • This proposal by StableLab aims to improve governance participation within SafeDAO by enhancing community engagement and streamlining governance processes. After gathering feedback from stakeholders, StableLab has refined its approach to address key areas such as voter turnout, abstention rates, and the number of individual voters. The initiative includes frequent community updates, onboarding support through welcome calls and proposal refinements for community members, and assisting SafeDAO workstreams with various tasks.
  • [Discussion/Draft] [OBRA] Vue Safe App SDK and Template Development - [IOPLUS]

    • The proposed initiative aims to expand the Safe ecosystem by developing a Vue.js version of the Safe App SDK and a Vue template for Safe Apps. Currently, Safe offers React-based tools, but by introducing Vue alternatives, the proposal seeks to attract a broader developer base, particularly those familiar with Vue, thereby increasing Safe’s user base and ecosystem. The initiative is aligned with Safe’s strategy to foster the module ecosystem and potentially increase awareness of the Safe ecosystem. The project has a funding request of $15,000 USDC, which will cover design, development, and testing over a five-week period.
  • [Discussion/Draft] [OBRA] Researching Standards in DAOs to Create Benchmarks for SafeDAO - StableLab

    • This research proposal by StableLab aims to improve SafeDAO’s governance and operational efficiency by analyzing and establishing benchmarks for key processes. The research will focus on areas such as information dissemination, marketing and community engagement, service provider selection frameworks, code of conduct, and resource allocation. With a funding request of $9,999 USDC, this initiative will be conducted over 1.5 months and aims to provide data-driven insights tailored to SafeDAO’s needs. The research will involve analyzing existing DAO practices, developing guidelines, and engaging with stakeholders to refine the standards.

  • SafeDAO Governance Analytics Report #4: July 2024.
    • The SafeDAO Governance Analytics Report for July 2024 shows some important trends and challenges. While the votable supply of SAFE tokens grew slightly, the distribution of voting power shifted, with the top 10 voters holding a bit less influence. Despite a small increase in the participation rate to 3.89%, the number of unique voters decreased, highlighting ongoing issues with engagement. Two proposals (SEP #29 and SEP #31) sparked significant debate, showing clear divisions within the community, while others like SEP #32 had strong support but didn’t reach quorum, pointing to a need for more active participation. The report emphasizes the impact of concentrated voting power and the importance of strategies to boost community involvement and strengthen governance
  • CES Review Report
    • The Contribution Efficiency System (CES) Review Report reflects on the first four months of CES operations and its impact on OBRA’s goals within SafeDAO. Managed by the Areta team, CES has played a key role in onboarding, aligning milestones, tracking progress, and reporting for 12 OBRA initiatives, all aimed at improving governance efficiency. The report covers the program’s activities, feedback from stakeholders, and key outcomes, as well as the lessons learned along the way. Looking ahead, the CES team proposes extending the program for another three months to continue supporting SafeDAO’s efforts to optimize resource allocation and governance processes
