Program Overview

The Safe Guardians of Gardens is an open community of $SAFE holders on the Gardens platform dedicated to growing a healthy and thriving Safe Ecosystem. The program includes a Builder’s Fund for low-friction milestone-based funding for proposals to help grow Safe, and signaling for community members to identify pain points holding the ecosystem back.

The goals of this community are:

  • To fund builders actively working on solving the biggest pain points for Safe platform users.
  • To fund growth and marketing initiatives that help expand the adoption and healthy growth of the Safe ecosystem.
  • To increase governance participation by giving more agency to $SAFE token holders - securely, and with mechanisms that harness collective intelligence.

With the current pause in ecosystem funding, the timing of this funding is critical in making sure the Safe ecosystem can sustain its healthy growth while a broader campaign is crafted.

The campaign also serves as a great pilot for a potential funding and coordination model that can be reviewed, iterated on and expanded as results of the program become clear.

Background

Gardens is a governance platform that helps communities source decisions and allocate funding for ecosystem growth with the best ROI possible. On Gardens, community members can create and vote on proposals and help steer the organization towards success.

The Safe Guardians of Gardens are dedicated to supporting the healthy growth of the Safe ecosystem, bound by an onchain Covenant.

The community is moderated by a Council Safe, serving as stewards of our community’s Covenant by fostering an environment where community members can actively participate, propose ideas, and drive initiatives that advance the Safe ecosystem.

The Council Safe for the community is democratically elected in a signaling pool, and also rules on proposal disputes in the community.

Performance Metrics

To track the success of the Safe Guardians of Gardens, performance of this pilot campaign will be measured across 2 separate tracks:

  1. Community Participation and Satisfaction
    How much activity does the program ignite, and are participants happy with their experience?

    KPIs for this track will be tracked in a Dune Dashboard, and include:

    • total community members participating
    • total $SAFE staked in the community
    • proposals created
    • total transactions
    • surveys and qualitative assessments of user experience

  2. Safe Ecosystem Health and Growth
    How effective is the program at solving pain points of the Safe platform, increasing its healthy adoption, and growing Safe’s ecosystem of users, builders, and partners?

    KPIs and tracking methodology to be included in community proposals for funding.

How to Join

Follow these steps to join the Safe Guardians of Gardens community and begin participating:

  1. Bridge your $SAFE to Gnosis Chain if you don’t have tokens there already. The community is run on Gnosis Chain to optimize for onchain governance.

  2. Register in Gardens to become part of the Safe Guardians of Gardens. Registration includes a minimum stake amount of 10 $SAFE and a one-time fee of 1 $SAFE. Link to community on Gardens.

  3. Participate in Governance Pools - there are 3 active pools in the community:

    • Safe Builders Fund - request milestone-based funding for a proposal to help grow the Safe ecosystem. Any community member can create a proposal. Only past OBRA recipients and Safe Guardians can vote on proposals.

    • Safe Ecosystem Pain Points - help identify problem areas in the Safe ecosystem preventing the healthy growth and adoption of the platform. Any community member can create a proposal and vote on proposals.

    • Council Safe Election - create a proposal to join the Council Safe for the Safe Guardians of Gardens. Any community member can create a proposal. Only past OBRA recipients and Safe Guardians can vote on proposals.
