[CES] OBRA: Initiatives Reporting Update - July

As we begin Sprint 3 of the third season of OBRA, we are back to share more reporting updates from OBRA initiatives in July. Come the conclusion of the voting period from Sprint 2, we have seen the ratification of three new OBRA initiatives from DoDAO, 1a35e1, and the joint proposal of Cometh, Gnosis Guild, and OneBalance. With these newly accepted proposals beginning their OBRA onboarding processes, the new total of OBRA initiatives is brought to 15.

Additionally, there have been suggested governance cycle amendments for OBRA which have come off the back of OBRA retro feedback sessions. In short, the changes outlined in the proposal will:

  1. Remove “Phase 0” and start at Phase 1 [Draft] at the beginning of the Governance Cycle/Sprint
  2. Introduce a proposal change freeze period
  3. Add a reflection period by shortening the Voting Period

Applications

OBRA has received a total of 28 applications, with 15 of them being accepted and ratified through voting on Snapshot. The distribution of OBRA applications across strategies remains largely similar over the past 3 reporting months, with strategies 2, 3, and 5 receiving the lion’s share of interest. Currently, there are no applications under consideration on Snapshot.

Initiative Outcomes

Initiative Milestone Completed
Curia Milestone I: Report IV
LuukDAO: Safe Token Utility Sprint 1 Milestone III: Market Testing & Selection
Palmera: Hierarchical Structure Milestones I-IV: Audit Competition - Results

July saw 3 projects complete milestones for a total of 7 achieved milestones. While Curia and LuukDAO each shared the completion of 1 milestone, Palmera: Hierarchical Structures ran initiated, operated, and announced the winners of their audit competition. The aforementioned completion of Palmera’s initiative represents 1 of the 4 initiatives which completed their OBRA grants this past reporting period, including Gnosis Guild’s Role-Based Access Control, Gnosis Guild’s Split Delegation, and LuukDAO’s Safe Token Utility Sprint 1 initiative.

For further context, through the operations of Gnosis Guild’s SEP14, the inital scoping of work was much deeper than expected and communicated in the proposal and thereby infeasible. As such, after working closely with Safe[Core] & Safe{Wallet}, as well as the Safe Governance team, it was deemed that due to the reduced scope of work, it was best to forego the final reporting and invoicing and wrap up the initiative.

These updates, along with more details on the progress of OBRA initiatives for the past reporting period, will be reflected on our CES Reporting Summary page here.
